Don't we have good bowling form? We had a good time and found out that Dad must have a secret life in a bowling league. God Bless! Posted by Picasa

Our vacation

We started our trip to Dinosaur Valley. We hiked and walked trails to see dinosaur tracks in the rocks. This is a really neat place. Maybe better if you love to camp....we stayed in the hotel. If you know me well, there need be no explanation.

Rocky and the kids swam in the "blue hole" which is surrounded by rock, which in this picture you can see the tracks. I like swimming in lakes about as much as I like sleeping in tents. I sat this one out. They did have a good time.

At Fossil Rim, we drove a 9 mile route through land scattered with wild life. The animals are so accustomed to people that they come right up (and sometimes in) to your vehicle. This ostrich all but jumped in the back seat. We also made a friend that Rocky and Ashlynn named Susie Duberry. She was a fawn that literally followed us for about a mile. Everytime that we stopped to see other animals, she would pop her little head into Rocky's window. In the below photo, Rocky was feeding two giraffe. They were the biggest that I've ever seen. This was the mom and baby. The daddy did not seem happy to have so many visitors. God Bless!

Locks of Love

Well Ashlynn finally grew her hair long enough to donate it to locks of love. I cut 10 1/2 inches off to put in the mail. She looks really cute and bounces when she walks. They do great things with the donated hair. Most of the hair makes wigs for girls with cancer. God Bless!

A visit with the Burleson's

This past weekend we went to see the Burleson's. We had a great weekend. They are remodeling their home and it looks wonderful. They live in an older neighborhood, which was so pretty. The homes were so unique. It made me miss smaller towns. God Bless!

Ma and Pappy's house

We went to visit Pappy and Ma. I have so many good memories from being out there. I'm so glad that my kids love it, too. We used to go to their house every Sunday for lunch. I feel fortunate to get to go once or twice a year, now. Being a kid is great! I just hope that we are creating memories for Ashlynn and Rylan that they will treasure. God Bless!

Oh, the water slide

Thanks to Grandmomma and Dad the highlight of the summer is spent on this water slide. (Thanks Dad for the many hours spent on this fun).

We were their audience. Keith was, of course, being silly, but didn't expect this kick in the rump.
After a long day of fun, Rylan didn't make it to the bed. We had a great time! God Bless! Posted by Picasa

Photos with the train

While taking pictures with the train, Rocky told the kids to make it look like they were riding on the wheel. Rocky's is really pretty life-like. At least we all know why our kids are SILLY!

Exploring Childress

Rocky took the kids to the park to fish and feed the ducks. It is a must do when in Childress. After that he took them to the train that has been in Childress all of my life, but I honestly have never paid much attention to it. They had a lot of fun. God Bless!

Roanoke 4th of July Celebration

We went to the new Roanoke community park tonight for the 4th celebration. Here the kids are waiting in line for the enormous slide. There were bounce houses, free snow cones, rock climbing (Rylan was scared of that, but created his own "fence climbing"), balloon fights, a train, and dickies bar-b-que catered for $2.00 a meal. It was a lot of fun. Because of the enormous amount of people attending, we left before the fireworks show. We had a lot of fun. God bless! Posted by Picasa

Roanoke 4th of July Celebration Cont.

The enormous slide was a lot of fun. Rylan did not want to go down without Rocky.

Ashlynn did not make it to the top, but Rocky did. They enjoyed the challenge.
